Academy Policies
It is the students responsibility to read and be aware of the FVT Academy Policies before coming to their first class. Please read through all of them so we can dance together safely!
At Flux Vertical Theatre Academy, we are committed to creating an empowering, safe, and enjoyable environment for our students and community. Please take a few minutes to review and familiarize yourself with the following required academy policies.
• Flux Vertical Theatre Academy maintains a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate or disrespectful behavior toward staff or fellow students.
• Students engaging in inappropriate, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior may be dismissed from class immediately. Repeated violations may result in permanent removal from Flux Vertical Theatre premises.
• Instructors must be informed of any pre-existing injuries or physical limitations prior to the start of class.
• Due to the nature of our curriculum, all students must have an emergency contact on file.
• Students are not permitted to instruct, coach, or spot other students at any time.
• Students may not practice movements not being taught during class or workshops, as this is distracting, disrespectful, and unsafe. Violations may result in removal from the class or workshop.
• Only paid participants are permitted to attend classes or workshops.
• Rings, metal bracelets, metal watches, lotions, and body oils are prohibited on poles.
• Stiletto boots with metal hooks are prohibited on poles and floors. “D” rings are acceptable. If you are unsure whether your footwear is permitted, please ask an instructor before class.

• Photos and videos of yourself are permitted only when invited by the instructor. If other students appear in the frame, their consent is required, or the device must be repositioned.
• If you are sick or feeling unwell, please do not attend class.
Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited prior to participating in any academy activities. Anyone suspected of being under the influence will not be allowed to participate and will forfeit their class without refund or credit.
All Memberships of any kind including Trial Memberships are subject to the same Late Cancel and No Show Policies. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the details below, which include the associated fees.
LATE POLICY:
Please arrive on time for your classes, as we have a NO LATE POLICY. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, you will not be allowed into the class, and you will forfeit both the class and your class credit. This policy is in place for safety reasons, as you will miss the warm-up, which is a critical part of any movement class. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your class to ensure you're ready to go! We ask that you respect our instructors and fellow students by arriving on time. Please note, reminders of our late policy are included in every class confirmation email, so no exceptions can be made.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
All cancellations must be made through your Mindbody account by you. By canceling at the last minute or not giving notice, you prevent another student from having the opportunity to book that spot.
LATE CANCEL FEE AGREEMENT:
As an FVTA Member (at any level), you will be automatically charged a LATE CANCEL FEE of $10 per Drop-In Studio Class if you cancel less than 6 hours (360 minutes) prior to the class start time.
NO SHOW FEE AGREEMENT:
As an FVTA Member (at any level), you will be automatically charged a NO SHOW FEE of $20 per Drop-In Studio Class that you do not attend and are signed up for.
All Non-Members are subject to the following Cancellation Policies.
Late Policy:
Please arrive for classes on time as we have a no tardy policy! If you are more than 5 minutes late to class, you will not be allowed into the classroom and therefore forfeit your class and class credit. This is a safety issue. If you arrive late you will miss the warm up. The warm up is an essential part of any movement class. We suggest arriving 10 minutes prior to the start of your class so that you are completely ready to go! Please respect our instructors and the other students by arriving to class on time. Reminders about our late policy are included with every class confirmation email therefore no exceptions will be made. Be on time!
“No shows” will result in losing your class and class credit.
Cancellation Policies:
All cancellations must be done through your Mindbody account. By giving last minute notice or no notice at all, you prevent someone else from being able to schedule into that awesome class!
Early Cancel Policy:
Individually scheduled class cancellations are permitted at least 12 hours before the start of class with no penalty and will be deemed an “early cancellation”.
Late Cancel Policy:
Individually scheduled class cancellations within 12 hours of the start of class is a “late cancellation” and will result in forfeiting your class and class credit.
Series Class Cancel Policy:
Series class cancellations must be done at least 5 days prior to the first class of the series. Canceling a series at least 5 days prior to the start of the series will result in class credits being re-issued. These credits can be used at a later time for individually scheduled OR series classes.
*Class Credits for a series are *not* possible if canceled within 5 days of the start date of the series or once the series has begun.
Workshop, Workshop Series & Master Class Cancellation Policy:
Workshop class cancellations are not eligible for refunds or class credits.
FVTA’s waitlist is an automated system designed to keep classes full and give as many students as possible the opportunity to train.
By adding yourself to a waitlist, you agree to the following:
• When you are moved from the waitlist into a class, you will receive an automated text notification confirming your enrollment.
• This text includes the option to cancel your booking within the allowed cancellation window.
• Once enrolled from the waitlist, all standard FVTA Member and Non-Member Late Cancel and No Show policies apply.
• If you do not cancel within the stated cancellation window, any applicable fees or penalties are the student’s responsibility.
• Being on the waitlist requires text message notifications to be enabled, as this is how enrollment updates are delivered.
• Our waitlists are often shared by multiple students who are ready to attend. If you are not prepared to commit to the class, please do not add yourself to the waitlist, as doing so may prevent another student from joining.
• If your availability changes, it is your responsibility to remove yourself from the waitlist or cancel promptly.
Joining a waitlist confirms that you understand and accept these terms and helps us keep classes running smoothly for everyone!
